Oh yeah...that's nice...
Coupled with this sky overhead and a nice breeze made a perfect lunch reading time:

Life Snip #19
Hm...skipped Spring, Summer, Fall and right back to Winter?
(Bonus: you can see the picnic table I ate lunch at on Tuesday, covered in snow)

Life Snip # 18
Wendy having a chicken salad thing at Rumbi
I had the teriyaki chicken rice bowl. It was OK. Reminded me of the Orange House on Whittier Blvd. near Beach Blvd. for anyone that knows it.

Life Snip #17
I had a picnic lunch by the creek that runs by my building.
Jealous? =)
The only negative to a beautiful, breezy 78-degree day was that some lady also on her lunch-break lit up a cigarette. Thanks! Not like I was enjoying the fresh air or anything. I moved to a different table so I wasn't downwind of her.

Can you handle a LifeSnipalooza?
I'm home with the kids today while Wendy is up in Denver for a MOPS Summit. (I'm sure she'll describe it in detail on her blog after she gets back.) So I've taken a few phone pics of them today, and I'm gonna hit you with Life Snips #12-14.
Life Snip #12
As I was putting laundry away, the kids were pretending to sleep:

Wendy will probably be a litte jealous that I had such an easy time getting the kids to eat lunch:
Life Snip #14
After lunch, the kids were drawing and Connor made an excellent stab at writing his name. Just gotta turn that K into an R:

Life Snip #11
Snowy Spring
You can't see it very well, so I'll describe:
It's been blowing snow for the last couple hours, and when I ducked outside for a minute to take it all in, I was struck by something odd...
The juxtaposition of snow, barren trees, winter, etc. with birds flying and chirping and singing all over the place! I guess they decided it's Spring whether it looks like it or not.

Anti-Social
How anti-social am I?
This morning, I start walking down the hall towards the kitchen to get my ice water. (Gotta have my ice water) I notice this one lady by the copier, whom I know to be super-friendly, and requires social interaction with anyone in her radius. I actually paused and considered going back to my desk to wait a few minutes before going to the kitchen just to avoid the obligatory "Good Morning!"s.
I shrugged it off in no more than a 2-3 second pause and tried to just hustle by, but sure enough: "Good morning, Josh!" Expectant look on face. "Morning," over my shoulder.
Whew! I'm exhausted from all this social interaction!

Happy Happy! Joy Joy!
And the heavens did open up, and the angels did rejoice in loud praises, saying:
"L&L Hawaiian Barbecue, Baby!!"
One of the many things that was hard to leave in Cali, was the awesome, yummy goodness of what had become a favorite eatery of mine: L&L Hawaiian Barbecue
A teacher friend of mine at WCHS turned me on to it, and I even had their food catered for my band's "Name That Tune" fundraiser dinner/concert.
When I knew I'd be moving to Colorado, I checked their website for CO locations, and was sad to see the only one was in Aurora (a suburb of Denver). Yesterday, Wendy asked me to pick up some dinner on the way home from work, and I drove through a shopping center near our new condo that I hadn't explored yet. Lo and behold: I found it! I was giddy, and of course that's what I got for dinner.
Thank God for happy surprises like that.

Thanks Stomach Flu & Moving!!
Due to the rough last few days, I lost 6-7 pounds! Whoops...I know you're not supposed to drop that much in just a few days, but obviously most of that was due to not eating, flu, stress, and the 12-hour workout I got on Sunday. Imagine my surprise when I looked down at 192!
I decided that since A) My appetite came back today, and B) I need to make up for lost food/time, I would have a satisfying lunch of KFC followed by TWO pieces of chocolate. Woah!
Anywho...in other news, apparently it's not quite Spring here, because there's a big snowstorm happening right now!

Worst. Saturday. Ever.
Sooo...moving days are hard enough as it is, right? And Wendy and I were bone-tired already from painting Wed-Fri. Then last night at about 11:30, Connor throws up. (btw...2 days ago, Cosette threw up in the car) So Wendy takes Connor into the bath, and unpacks clothes, towels, etc. that's needed to clean him up. I clean up the mess in the bedroom, bagging the sheets and mattress cover to go on the back porch. I won't attempt to describe the horrendousness of the smell; your imagination should suffice.
So we set Connor up with new sheets on his mattress in the hallway, since we weren't going to clean the carpet while Cosette was sleeping. We're back in bed by midnight, knowing that the move is going to be even harder.
Then Connor throws up again...at 2:00am. And afterwards Wendy feels sick and goes to the bathroom. Then at a little after 3:00, I feel sick and go to the bathroom...however while I'm "on the throne", I suddenly get queasy, grab the trash can nearby, and hurl. Great. So while I'm in and out of the bathroom until about 8:30 this morning, Wendy's waiting for her turn to hurl. She escapes with just a few dry heaves, and I start feeling better and sleep for an hour or two.
It seems to have been a wicked, albeit short-lived 12-hour bug that laid out the three of us. (And is probably what hit Cosette on Wed) Needless to say, we weren't picking up the U-haul truck at 7:00 am, and I called U-haul and asked them to postpone our scheduled pick-up for Sunday, since we ended up stayng in bed recovering till Noon (for me) and 2:00 (for Wendy).
We're still very lethargic and aching, but I'm going to try and take some essentials over to the condo so we can sleep there tonight. ugh...

Life Snip Hiatus?
Sorry about the hiatus...I was feeling pretty good about the Life Snip series. But then again, moving into our brand new condo and painting it is a decent excuse, I'd say.
So, since tonight, I'm running sound at church for the high school group's Prom fundraiser, here's Life Snip #6:
